Waste Collection Services

The Town of Canmore offers a program for Leaf & Grass waste and Scrub & Brush waste.

Leaf & grass waste - includes leaves, grass & garden waste only.

Scrub & brush waste - includes woody waste generated in your backyard such as branches, small trees (less than 1.5m in length), shrubs and twigs only.

Each program is accepted separately at the 115 Boulder Crescent Recycling Depot (Elk Run Industrial Park).

Leaves & grass waste will be composted.

Scrub & brush waste will be chipped at the Bow Valley Waste Management Commission's landfill operation 6km east of Exshaw.

• Do not include and construction wood, large trees (more than 1.5m), stumps, cones or lumber
• Do not include plastic bags. Please de-bag all leaf, grass & garden waste prior to disposal
• Do not include commercial leaf & grass and scrub & brush waste
• Commercial businesses can take their loads of yard waste directly to the regional landfill site

Important note: containers that are contaminated will have the whole load disposed of in the landfill.
